De Profundis

Letter from G to PA (2013-4-27), page 5

Completely consumed by their id, however, is perhaps not the ideal for a human, which is perhaps where the label fails for me a bit.

At any rate, I’ve also been amused to realize that pretty much all of the surrounding buildings in this vernacular temple district that are not temple or ritual spaces have large dogs. It seems like there’s a pit bull at every non-ritual building in the entire neighborhood. There’s one house that has a tribe of chihuahuas, like a herd of mini-velociraptors or school of piranha … frightening and ridiculous all at the same time.

But it is an interesting side observation that the distribution of canines is exclusively among the muggles here. A lot could be said about my feelings about the character of these noisy, messy and lumbering beasts with unrefined and ugly minds in bundles of over-compensating muscles … and I'm pretty sure I'm talking about the dogs, mostly.
