All of this talk about complex innate behaviour is something more to consider when cats behave in mysterious ways in strange settings. Certainly, I’m reminded of the Lovecraftian tales of the Dreamlands and cats having secret societies of their own. I dare say that I’ve observed in the way the cats in this district behave the hints of secret societies with which I’m familiar with in the human. The cats here do seem to know this is the kind of vernacular temple district which I’ve mentioned previously. They seem to gather most often on the grounds of spaces in which occult activities have occurred, and seem to know when ritual is happening.
Another thing about cats is that I have wondered if they might be the most “Thelemic” animal. They are so very focused and directed on whatever their objectives are to the extent that they can be completely “one-pointed”, and yet are so very capable of living at the same time in their “delicious langour” …
